Imagination is key to accomplishing your goals.
This is because it allows you to imagine the steps that you need to take to achieve them.
- Come to our next goal-setting course for a chance sit back and imagine the steps that you will take to achieve your goals.
Napoleon Hill’s original book is called Think and Grow Rich precisely because thinking and using your imagination is so key in goalsetting.
This idea is used by contemporary methods, such as Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), which says that visualisation is fundamental to achieving rich goals.
Your imagination is a key tool at your disposal.
For example, you can sit down quietly and imagine the steps that you would need to go through to achieve your goal.
You can mentally rehearse steps before acting.
You can run through a performance in your mind before doing it. And not just the content, but feelings that contribute to it being successful.
You can visit the venue and use what you saw to imagine yourself there successfully performing. You can enrich the image to make it more compelling.
Having mentally rehearsed doing your activity successfully, you can then store your feelings of success so that you can access them when you do the real activity.
In a similar way, you can imagine solutions to problems that you might face as you progress to a Gateway.
Maybe you forget something on the day of your performance. Or something breaks. Or there is an unexpected delay or interruption.
By thinking through how you would deal with problems, you will be more prepared to deal with them if they happen.
If you would like to practise using your imagination to improve your performance and set better steps to your goals, then come to the next IMPACT Goal setting workshop.
